Lotus Brake Pad Upgrades
One of the first and cheapest things you can do to improve your Lotus brakes performance is to fit uprated brake pads. Having a better pad material will increase the friction between the pad and the disc, allowing the car to stop faster. All of our brake pad products ensure better performance on fast road, track and race car applications. We have listed a couple of the most popular Lotus brake pad upgrades below. If you wanted to discuss your braking requirements further, our customer care team are on hand to assist you where possible. For more information, please Contact Us
Pagid RS 42 Brake Pad Set
Few brake pad compounds are as highly regarded as the Pagid RS 42 also referred to as 'Pagid Blue'. The Pagid RS 42 is a carbon based compound with a medium friction level. It has an excellent low temperature response and remains very stable over a wide temperature range. Designed to withstand constant temperatures of up to 600ºC the RS 42 is very user friendly with excellent modulation and 'feel' and is widely used across many forms of Motorsport from single seaters and sports cars to Group N rallying. It is also becoming more and more popular as a track day pad and for use in historic rallying.
Pagid RS 14 Brake Pad Set
These pads have always been rated as very good for serious track use whilst still remaining good for road. The RS 14 is a racing brake pad with a high ceramic level. Very stable in terms of fading and will resist constant brake temperatures up to 650ºC. While cold, the RS14 is as good as the RS42, at or above 400 ºC, you will definitely experience more grip from the brakes. The RS 14 is developed for lightweight cars and is suited very well for the Lotus Elise/Exige. Although predominantly a race pad hundreds of our customers have fitted them to their road cars and are very pleased with the results.
Performance Friction 08 Brake Pad Set
08 compounds are one of PFC's newest and have gained immediate favour in Endurance Sportscar and GT racing due to its performance in applications where smooth initial bite is a must. 08 have a slight friction rise with temperature, excellent release and modulation characteristics. Very low abraded disc wear with a fine grey slate like disc finish, similar to 01. Despite its considerable performance, 08 wears the longest of all PFC pads and easily matches wear of the other competitors with much higher bite.
