Team MSC Achieve Maiden Victory at Brands Hatch

Set up for the weekend began on Thursday afternoon as the whole team moved up to Brands Hatch.

Free practise on Friday was carried out in changeable conditions with the works Evora crashing out causing a red flag. The MSC team Exige was the dominant car in the session setting the pace in both dry and wet conditions.

Qualifying on Saturday ended up being a contest between the Europa driven by Chris Randal and the team MSC Exige. A small off led to our car pitting to clear grass from the grill which had caused the car to overheat. On resumption of the session traffic prevented a clear lap and we settled for 2nd on the grid.

The race began with a rolling start with the Europa and Go Green Exige both getting ahead of the team MSC Exige. Within a few laps we had passed the Go Green Exige and we closed rapidly on the Europa which we then shadowed for a few laps until the Europa suddenly slowed allowing both the MSC and Go Green Exige to pass with ease. We were now leading the race with the Go Green Exige pressing hard. The lead changed hands over the next couple of laps and with the pit window now open we called the MSC Exige in early for the mandatory stop which all went very smoothly.

We re-joined the race 4 laps down but steadily made our way up the leader board as other cars pitted. The Go Green Exige was still leading but we were closing fast and after a titanic battle we retook the lead around clearways and pulled a safe distance into the lead. We maintained the lead with the car putting in consistent 52's lap after lap. With 8 minutes to go an Exige crashed out leading to a red flag and the first victory for the MSC team Exige driven superbly by Adrian Hall.

All the months of time and effort put in by the staff at Maidstone Sports Cars had finally paid off with the cars maiden victory.
